Intended Audience: Instructional leaders or school staff who set up their Ponder Paper scanners for collaborative scoring.
Context: This article shows how to switch your scanner to a WIFI wireless connection instead of using a port/ethernet cable.
WIFI Connection Steps:
Please note, the order of these screens may slightly differ on your device.
1. Unplug the ethernet cord at the back of the scanner.
2. Click on the X in the error message pop-up to return to the home screen (blue screen).
Or, click on the Settings button towards the bottom of the error message. Then return to the home screen.
3. On your scanner home screen, towards the bottom, click on the settings gear icon
4. In the Settings menu, click on Scanner Settings
5. On the Password screen, use the keyboard to enter "password" (all lowercase). Check "Display keystrokes" to confirm spelling.
6. On the Scanner Settings page, click on "How to connect" to continue with settings setup:
7. Select "Wi-Fi" and toggle on the button "Continue with the Settings"
8. Select the option "Select an Access Point"
9. When the wifi options appear, select a secure connection
For example: USI_Staff2
Then click Next
10. Towards the bottom of the screen, click on User ID and enter the text in bold. Note: this credential is case-sensitive so enter this exactly as is shown: Fujitsu.Scanner
11. Scroll down and enter the Password.
Important note:
For the password, please contact your IT Support team or Ponder Paper representative for this credential.
12. Click Next.
13. Note: for this next section, you may not always get the exact series of screens. If you do not, keep clicking Next.

14. Select "Start"
15. Select "Next"
16. Click Next
17. Choose "Encryption Off (HTTP)"
18. Click "Enable"
19. Confirm the Host Name, e.g. scans.uncommonschools.org
Click on "Check Connection".
The pop-up should say "successfully connected.", then click "Ok" to close the pop-up and click "Next"
19. Click "Next"
21. Click "Next"
22. Leave the scanner name as previously set, click "Next"
23. Click on "Complete"
24. Return to the home screen and you're ready to scan!
